woah that’s one heck of a recipe name!
I had never heard of “puppy chow” until I was 25 years old? I know, right?! My grad school roommate made what she called “Muddy Buddies” for our school Christmas party, and it sounded so strange to me. Of course at first bite I was in love and have been cursing her ever since 😉
Lately I’ve stumbled on all sorts of ah-mazing Puppy Chow recipes from these ladies, and in a moment of inspiration I came up with this spin on it. Wait for it.. Puppy Chow made with Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cookie Butter.
The result: Amazing. I was concerned that you the white chocolate and powdered sugar might hide the flavor of the Cookie Butter.. but it didn’t at all! These are the ideal combination of cinnamon, sugar, and cookie butter amazingness!
Oh AND the local grocery store I went to didn’t have Cookie Butter (either Biscoff or Speculous), so I did the natural thing, I made my own! I am so happy with how it turned out. Click here for the Homemade Cookie Butter recipe!
Cinnamon Toast Cookie Butter Puppy Chow
- 6 cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal
- 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cup Cookie Butter (Biscoff, Speculous or Homemade)
- 1 – 1.5 cups Powdered Sugar
Measure Cinnamon Toast Crunch into a large bowl. Measure Powdered Sugar into a large ziplock bag or paper bag. Melt White Chocolate Chips according to package directions, but be careful not to over-melt if going the microwave route. Pour White Chocolate over the cereal and start to mix with a spatula. Add Cookie Butter and continue to combine. Once you have an even coating dump cereal into the Powdered Sugar bag and shack like crazy to mix. Shake more than you think you need to so it coats evenly. Eat right away.. or even better, refrigerate and eat later chilled.
Maybe someday I’ll be that blogger that takes fantastic photos.. but for now I don’t even have a camera (moving mishap).. so until then I’m really on my trusty iPhone.
